I have booked a limited number of places (either 37 or 49) for a two hour motorised canal boat cruise over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Llangollen.
Designed by Thomas Telford and William Jessop the aqueduct was completed in 1805. One of the most astonishing feats of engineering from the Industrial Revolution the Pontycysyllte Aqueduct is a Canal World Heritage site. A cast iron trough suspended 126 feet above the River Dee, supported by iron arched ribs, carried on 18 hollowed masonry pillars
To avoid confusion either email, text or phone me with your reservation please.
Coach will collect us from Leigh Miners at 9.15am to arrive in Llangollen before 11.30am for our cruise which will commence at 11.45am. The cruise will depart from Llangollen Wharf and end at Froncysyllte at approximately 2.00pm. Our coach will collect us from there to take us back into Llangollen centre. We will then have two and a half/three hours free time in Llangollen. Our coach will collect us from Llangollen at 4.30/5.00pm for our return journey to Leigh Miners.
- Canal Boat Cruise cost is £16.50, plus
- Cost of coach is £14.50 (if 37 people attend) or £12.50 (if 49 people attend)
- Therefore total cost is either £31.00 or £29.00
There is a cafe and gift shop at Llangollen Wharf and toilets are available both there and on the boat.
Tea, coffee, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks are available on board along with a range of snacks and confectionery items.
There is a list of food options available on the boat (at an extra charge) but these must be booked in advance. Alternatively you could either take your own lunch or go to one of the several pubs/cafes in Llangollen for something to eat.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you are interested. I will be collecting £10.00 deposits at the social at Leigh Miners on Friday 17th April 2026.
